Life | Goodbye April

Dear April,

I think that you've actually been my best month of 2016 yet, so that's pretty incredible.. Thank you for that.

Lets start with the best thing that happened to me this month. I got a new job! Okay so let me briefly explain, I never expected to be changing my job so quickly and this time 4/5 months ago it definitely wasn't something that had even crossed my mind. However, with all my health issues that are going on I've been assessed as not being fit to do my current job, which broke my heart because I think you all know how much I love my job and what I do. But, every cloud has a silver lining and I got myself a new job! I'm now going to be working in a dementia specialised nursing home as a mental health nurse. I genuinely can't wait! I've always loved working with the elderly and dementia really is one of my passions in live. So thank you for that April, you gave me the light and the end of this tunnel that I've been in since December.

You were still full of healthcare appointments, and annoyingly I've just come to accept that this is something that I'm going to have for the rest of my life. But the appointment I went to on Wednesday was really helpful and I've been told I definitely need physiotherapy to help with what's going on with my head.. Maybe I'll write a full post about my vestibular condition, how it's affecting me and what it does. I think I've finally accepted that this is something I have, but I can live with it and now I'll have physio to help me live with it a little bit more.

I got to have a really nice catch up with one of my best friends, which I always enjoy regardless. I've made some of the best friends through blogging this month; I got to meet two at a blogger event and we also have a little Whatsapp group chat going on and now I know we need to kick our arses into gear and get something organised to meet up!

So this has probably been the happiest letter I've written so far this year. I still feel like you've been an incredibly slow month April, but things are picking up! Now, if you could just sort out the weather please.. It's almost May and I'm a little bit bored of snow, hail and rain.. Plus it's Slam Dunk this time next month and I don't want to be stood in the middle of Leeds under and umbrella freezing cold.

Foodie Friday | Afternoon Tea at the Halfway House

Never before in my life have I felt more like I am cheating on one of my favourite little places more than I am while writing this blog post. You might remember that back in March I wrote about going for Afternoon tea at the Summerhouse Bakery, which is one of my favourite places ever! You can read that post here if you want to refresh you're memory of why it's my favourite place ever.

I think if you know me at all, in any way, then you will know how much I love the idea of afternoon tea and just how desperate I am to be eating tiny little finger sandwiches everyday. I secretly dream of being the queen okay...

So knowing that, can you really blame me for jumping at the chance to go for afternoon tea at the Halfway house when I heard that they were putting one on? Also I should very quickly point out that Ashleigh, a very good friend who I've grown up with, works at the Halfway House which is how I managed to get some behind the scene photos of the food from the kitchen that you'll be able to see in the first four photos.

Let me start off by saying that the food was incredible, and even though everything was finger sized I felt like I ate so much. I was actually surprised by how filling an afternoon tea like this could be.

To start with we were treated to a glass of champagne each when we sat down and while we were waiting for our food to be bought out, which is always a nice touch and made it feel a little bit more special. We were then bought a three tier stand which was filled with our starters and sandwiches. For starter we had a mini prawn cocktail each, which is always one of my favourite starters so it will always be a winner with me. We also had a spoon each to go with our crackers which was filled with a pâté and a mousse. I'm useless at tastes if someone doesn't tell me what I'm eating but we're pretty sure that the mousse was a salmon mousse and that the pâtè was duck as we had a little mandarin slice accompanying it. Both were beautiful, they were incredibly rich in flavour and insanely smooth. I also loved how they were presented!

We had a range of sandwiches as well as a selection of finger sandwiches and little squares. Thankfully there was not a cucumber sandwich in sight, but instead we had egg, cheese, ham, turkey and cranberry, smoked salmon and cream cheese and we are still arguing amongst ourselves if the other was tuna or salmon. See what I mean about being useless with flavours if I'm not told what I'm eating? The selection of flavours kept things really interesting and it was really nice to have a range of different breads as well as fillings.

I could not believe my eyes when they bought us out our pudding tray.. I could have died and gone to heaven right there. I am a massive pudding lover, but oh my god I could not have prepared myself for the selection of puddings that were bought out. There was this beautifully soft coconut sponge, which I then followed by the gorgeous little trifle because the strawberry and chocolate decoration were calling my name. I then had to reach for the prettiest little pastry that was filled with a delicious jam, followed by my crème brûlée. A crème brûlée is my weakness so I will always be left wanting more, but this one was just the right balance of sweetness and caramalised sugar. There wasn't a hint of the sugar being burnt and the whole crème brûlée was perfectly made and perfectly smooth.

This then left me with my scone, which I knew I was going to save till last so that I could pair it with my tea.. I'm insanely traditional and old like that. The scones were some of the best that I have had in a long time. They were the perfect size to follow up eating all that and beautifully made. A nice little surprise was the hint of cinnamon that was running through them, something that I've never had in a scone before but something that worked perfectly. We were provided with plenty of cream and jam and kept being topped up with tea all the way through.

Everything was home made and it really did show and you could just see all the effort that had gone in to making this afternoon tea experience. Unfortunately this isn't something that the Halfway House do regularly, but if they did I would honestly be there on a weekly basis because I loved it so, so much. For £12 per person you really couldn't ask for anything else.. Seriously, this gorgeous afternoon tea only cost £12 per person.

Somehow I've never been to the Halfway House before so I can't comment on any of the food they offer regularly but I've only ever heard good things. If this afternoon tea experience is anything to judge by then The Halfway House is really somewhere that you should be trying for yourself.

Life | The Walking Dead Tag

I am using a meme to explain to you exactly how I am feeling right now, and I just don't care. Let me just put it out there, season six of The Walking Dead has absolutely, hands down been the best season that we have had so far and I'm counting down the days till it comes back in October.

So if you know me at all in real life, you've got to know me since I've been blogging, or you've been following me on Twitter lately then you'll know that I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead. I've been there since day one, I go through love and heartbreak with this show but I will always be loyal. I've been wanting to write a post about The Walking Dead for a while, but honestly I wasn't quite sure how to do it and I didn't want to potentially spoil anything for anyone.. So I thought what would be better than The Walking Dead tag? I've tried to keep this as spoiler free as possible, but you might be able to work a few things out if you're not up to date. You have been warned.

1. Walkers, Lurkers, Biters, Lame-brains, Geeks, or Rotters, which is it?
Okay so I've heard all of these terms, and more, but I will always stay loyal to Walkers.. For me it's THE term and it kind of ties in with the title, because yes I am that kind of person.

2. You just woke up to a zombie apocalypse. What is your weapon of choice?
Deep in my heart I know I'm a crossbow kind of girl, you have both stealth and damage. But if I've just woke up then I'm probably going to grab a really good knife that is easy for me to carry and really do some damage with. I don't think I'd ever go for a gun, too much noise.

3. Now that you have your weapon, choose your partner. Who will it be?
I think most people will be expecting me to pick Daryl here, and I really would. I'd feel completely safe and covered with Daryl, he'd definitely have my back. But I'd definitely want Glenn as my partner, purely because he's never lost his morals so he'd probably keep me sane and again I know he'd totally have my back.

4. Location is everything, where will your camp be?
Somewhere high. Okay so other people will be able to see your camp, but you can see other people approaching as well. If I had to chose a camp from the show I'd definitely go for a cross of Alexandria and the prison. I like the home-feel of Alexandria but the prison had ultimate security.

5. Who is dead that you wish were still alive?
I can only think of two people, who definitely didn't deserve it and that is Hershel and Beth. Oh wait, and Noah, I loved that kid.

6. Who is alive that you wish were dead?
So if you'd have asked me this at the start of season six I'd have probably said someone like Enid, Denise or Morgan. But now we've made it this far I struggle with this, purely because everyone brings something to the group. Although I still don't know where I stand with Enid, the girl flips a little too often. If you know me, I bet you're shocked I didn't say Coral..

7. Which character is the most evil of all time?
Okay obviously The Governor, I genuinely felt uneasy during any scene with him and he was pure evil and just twisted. I haven't read any of the comics past where we are in the TV show but from what I've heard Negan is going to be worse and this scares me a little. Someone who I know a lot of people don't really consider evil is Shane, that guy was twisted. I never liked him from the beginning, I never had a good feeling about him, but oh my god the way his character unfolded.

8. If you had a baby during an apocalypse, which character would you put in charge to care for your child?
I loved Tyreese with Judith, how that whole relationship was portrayed was one of my favourite things on The Walking Dead. If Tyreese isn't an option any more, then I'd definitely have to pick Carl because that kid really cares about his little sister and would do anything to protect her.

9. Hey leader, your call: the needs of your loved ones or the needs of many?
I would totally channel my inner Rick here in the fact that my group would be my loved ones, and they would definitely become my family. So easy choice, the needs of my loved ones would be the needs of many.

10. What's the biggest lesson The Walking Dead taught you about surviving a zombie apocalypse?
Oh I have a few! You will lose your trust in new people, until they can prove themselves. You have to be a survivor, you can't let others do it all for you. Keep moving. But the most important thing I've learned? Don't stop in the middle of the woods and have a semi-heated argument.. Oh and maybe stay in the house.

If you're a fan of The Walking Dead I would love to see you answer these questions, and please let me know if you do! The only person who I definitely want to see answer these questions is my fellow Walker Stalker Ashton because I know her answers are going to be just as fun to read!

Friday First | So...? Original

I like to think I'm fairly adventurous when it comes to trying new scents, however I've noticed that I'm definitely more likely to try new scents when it comes to Spring and Summer, in Winter I'm more likely to stick to the scents I know and love. When I saw that So...? had revamped their scents I knew I had to get my hands on them, and So...? contacted me and gave me a chance to try their newly refreshed scents I just had to jump at the chance!

I have strong memories associated with So...? and I think every school girl from the 90s to the 00s does. What school bag was complete without a So...? or Charlie body spray? I was completely overwhelmed when I opened my parcel from So...? to find that they had sent me a full size perfume in the original scent along with a full sized body spray too!

The top notes of the So...? Original perfume are tangerine and orange flower, along with jasmine, ylang-ylang and rose with amber, sandalwood and vanilla acting as the base notes (sowithattitude.com). For me the main notes that come through and are the easiest to pick out are the vanilla and rose with a very subtle hint of orange flower. Which are all scents that I love and it's a gorgeous smelling perfume.

I find this perfume to be long lasting on me and one that isn't overpowering. The first night I wore it I received so many compliments and people asking me what perfume I was wearing. I've been wearing this perfume nearly every single day and I have so much left, you really don't need a lot which is great!

Will I continue to use the So...? Original perfume? I will. It's a perfume I can easily wear on a daily basis, but it's also a perfume that I'll reach for when I'm going out for a meal!
Would I repurchase the So...? Original perfume? Definitely, it's such a great priced perfume you'd be crazy if you didn't pick this up. Even if you only used it as a daily perfume, I can see this lasting me a lifetime.
Would I recommend the So...? Original perfume? I would. If you're looking for a new daily perfume, or if the notes sound like something that you'd definitely love, then give this a go!
Overall score out of 5? A 4. I'm reaching for this on a daily basis, but I know it will never replace my all time favourite perfume.

When I saw I'd been sent a body spray I was instantly taken back to feeling like I was back in year 7 and 8, I honestly haven't used a body spray since I was in my early years of high school. I wasn't really sure if I was going to use this and was considering giving it to my next door neighbour as her first body spray.

It took me a while to use it, however as I've been going out a lot lately to appointments back and forth I like having the scent I'm wearing that day on me but I'm not a fan of throwing a glass bottle in to my handbag. I just threw the body spray in my bag on a whim and kind of forgot about it. I reached for it when I was having a touch up during my day, I was touching up my powder and wanted to freshen up my scent so I grabbed this. Having a body spray that smells the same as my perfume is a great idea, and I feel like an idiot for doubting I'd use this.

Will I continue to use the So...? Original body fragranceI will, it's a really easy and convenient way for me to freshen up my fragrance while I'm out and about without throwing a glass perfume bottle in to my handbag. Obviously it's easy for me to just grab and use while on the go.
Would I repurchase the So...? Original body fragrance? I'm not sure, truthfully. It's incredibly priced, just like the perfume, but I'm not sure how I'd feel buying a body spray at 22. It's so easy for me to use on the go, I really think I might when I'm next in Superdrug though.
Would I recommend the So...? Original body fragrance? I would. I know I keep saying it, but if you don't like throwing a glass perfume bottle in to your bag but want to be able to top up your fragrance on the go then this is a really easy way to do it. Especially with it being the same scent as my perfume! It's a little match made in heaven.
Overall score out of 5? A 3. It really takes me back to being 12 in my first and second years of high school and furiously spraying this after a PE lesson. It's taking me a while to get used to using this again, but I love the connivence of this!

Have you tried anything from So...? fragrances? Did you ever use these scents when you were young? Would this kind of scent be for you? Let me know!

Life | All Bar One VIP Night

You may have seen me on Twitter over the past week frantically searching for anyone else who'd been invited to the VIP All Bar One event that was taking place on Thursday 14th April, to showcase the new bar look and their new menu launch. I felt incredibly lucky to be invited to something like this because it was my very first blog event and I just felt completely honoured to be invited!

Unfortunately, despite being in Leeds and in Millennium Square quite a lot I've never actually been to All Bar One before, so I can't comment on the new look of the bar. But I can say that inside was beautiful, I loved the decor and it's definitely my kind of bar that I'd go to for drinks with friends and a catch up. Upon arrival we were given a free drink, let's be honest a free bottle of Peroni and Prosecco is always a total bonus. We were also given a poker chip each which allowed us to have a free cocktail making masterclass!

So I have never made cocktails before, but it's totally my thing. I have no idea what cocktail we made but everything that was going into the cocktail shaker was everything that I loved. I really wish I knew what cocktail we made, but it tasted incredible. Just imagine refresher sweets mixed with raspberries.. It was dangerously good and we all said how we could just have drank those all night long.

Ryan then decided it would only be right to go and buy a cocktail that All Bar One offer so of course he had to buy a Disaronno Sours.. I can't say that I expected anything less from him, it's one of his favourite drinks.

Unfortunately I couldn't get any pictures of the food because they were being served in the form of canapés and by the time the waiters and waitresses had bought them round to your table, they'd already moved on. However the food we did get to taste was lovely, I just only wish that we'd had more so that I could do a full food review.

The best part of the night by a mile was meeting Becky and Tina, I will leave all of their links down at the bottom of this post so you can go stalk them and fall in love with both them and their blogs! We had all decided on Twitter that we were going to stick together because we didn't know anyone else who was going, and we didn't want to be the awkward loners in the corner not knowing anyone. We all clicked straight away, it was a great night of laughing, girly gossip and getting to know each other. My favourite part of the night was how we all spoke about our blogs for like 5 minutes before we completely moved on to talking about literally anything you could think of. They made the night so much fun and the night went so quick because we were having so much fun, you'd honestly think we'd been friends for years with how much we were laughing! We've already decided that we all need to go out together on a night out, for drinks, for food, you name it we'll definitely be meeting up to do something.

The friends that you're able to make through blogging is genuinely my favourite part of it all and it makes it so worth it. I have so many people who I love talking to but that I've never got to meet, but now Becky, Tina and me have each other to organise things with during Leeds. Thank you for making the night so much fun girls! Go and give these girls some love, I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do!

Friday First | Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleansers

So recently I've discovered that Superdrug have a pretty insane range of skin care that is actually pretty great. Okay so I say recently, I probably discovered my first skin care product from Superdrug around a year ago but recently I've picked up a few different bits and I'll be talking about these soon. However today I thought I'd talk you through two of my favourite picks from the Superdrug Skin Care range the Naturally Radiant and Vitamin E hot cloth cleansers.

Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser
The Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser is a creamy skin cleanser that is high in both vitamin E and antioxidants. As well as helping to defend your skin against environmental damage, this cleanser is also "suitable for removing dirt and makeup" (superdrug.com)

I usually use this cleanser when my skin is feeling a little dry and dull and just needs a little something extra, as you can see it's aimed at people with normal to dry skin. Unfortunately I can't comment on how good this is at removing makeup because I use this at night after taking my makeup off to give my skin a little extra something overnight. This cleanser is designed to melt on to the skin and then be removed with a muslin cloth, which also provides your skin with a gentle exfoliation.

Will I continue to use the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser? I will. I've not been using it on a daily basis, but I also save it for those days when my skin feels like it needs a little extra something. My skin always feels incredibly soft after I've used this so it's the one I always reach for.
Would I repurchase the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser? Definitely, it's so fairly priced and easy to pick up and Superdrug nearly always have offers on on their skin care range. A little really goes a long way with this product so I haven't needed to repurchase it yet, but it's definitely on my list.
Would I recommend the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser? I would. If you want to give your skin a little extra something for a really affordable price this is definitely a cleanser you should try.
Overall score out of 5? A 4. I use this at night to let it sink in to my skin so my skin can really see the benefits. Although I'm always slightly wary as the cleanser isn't designed for my skin type, but that is my own personal opinion.

Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser
The Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser is incredibly similar the Vitamin E and it feels exactly the same on the skin. The Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser "is formulated with a unique energising complex" and is "infused with Kiwi Fruit and Mulberry extracts to help revive skin's radiance and even out skin tone." As well as these two ingredients the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser is also "enriched with nourishing Cocoa Butter" (superdrug.com). Just like the Vitamin E Cleanser, the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser is also suitable for removing makeup.

I use this cleanser on a daily basis first thing in the morning after using my daily exfoliation face wash, so again I can't really comment on it's claims about removing makeup. I use it first thing as it's meant to awake the skin's natural glow, and let's be honest it probably just gives me skin the good kick in needs in the morning. Just like the Vitamin E, the Naturally Radiant cleanser is designed to melt on to the skin and then be removed with a muslin cloth, which also provides your skin with a gentle exfoliation. It leaves my skin feels refreshed, smooth, and ready for the day which is just what I need in the morning!

Will I continue to use the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser? Definitely. I use it daily and it really does give my skin a little extra something in the morning that I wasn't getting before introducing this into my skin care.
Would I repurchase the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser? Oh definitely. For the price it's absolutely great and I'm so glad I've added this in to my morning skin care routine.
Would I recommend the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser? I would. If you're looking for a little extra something for your skin that isn't too harsh then this definitely is something you should consider. All the goodness you're getting in one product for the price is just too good to miss out on!
Overall score out of 5? Again a 4. I use this in the morning after my other face wash so I've never really tested out the full claims of this cleanser on it's own. Unfortunately I don't think my skin would benefit just from this cleanser alone, but that is because I use an exfoliating face wash before hand so I only have myself to blame.

Have you tried anything from the Superdrug Skin Care range? Would this kind of skin care be anything you'd try? Let me know!

Beauty | Battle of the Blushers

I'm naturally very pale anyway and have a distant lack of colour in my face. But since being ill since December, I've actually lost track of how many times I've been told that I look ill so I've added blusher back into my daily makeup routine.

I've always gone for coral pinks when it comes to blusher, don't ask me why I just feel they look a lot more natural and suit me better. I also feel they look a lot more fresh. So the two blushes that I have been absolutely loving since reintroducing blusher into my makeup routine is one from Makeup Revolution and a cream blush from No7.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Blusher in Make Love Instead
I picked this blusher up on a total whim. In was in Superdrug one day and lusting over the Makeup Revolution stand as usual. Although usually when I'm lusting over it everything is sold out.. Seriously if anyone knows the secret to catching the Makeup Revolution stand fully stocked please let me know.. Anyway, this blusher was just sat there screaming at me to take it home and try it. So I did and I'm so in love with it!

As you can see Make Love Instead is made up of very neutral pinks with some coral pinks running through as well. The Vivid Baked Blushes also have a hint of shimmer running through them so as well as blusher, you also get a hint of highlight. Which for someone like me who doesn't wear highlighter, this is great and adds a little extra something something to my face. As a powder it is incredibly easy to build up and you can have as little or as much as you'd like.

No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush
I'm not really sure how I came to have this.. I feel as if my Grandma gave it to my Mum, who then gave it to me. Also incredibly, I have a makeup product and I have literally no idea what shade I have it in, after looking online it is either Rose Blossom or Classic Rose.

I've always stayed away from cream blushes as I've always been incredibly nervous. For me powder blushes are very easy to work with, build up and blend, but I've always had this fear that cream blushes are incredibly hard to work with. Well how wrong I was. I found that this cream blush blended a lot easier than I expected, I applied it in a stripe from the apples of my cheeks up towards my temple and blended it out with my fingertips as recommend. This is incredibly easy to build up as can be imagined, but it blends out so easily.

I was going to do a review on each of them, but I thought it would be more fun looking at them both like this. I'll definitely carry on using both of these blushes I love the look that they both give me. I think I'll be more likely to reach for my Makeup Revolution blush on a daily basis where I want a touch of colour but nothing too much, and I think I'll reach for my No7 Cream Blush when I want a stronger look either on a night out, or on a day when I need my blusher to actually stick around and give me that hit of colour all day long.

Friday First | Kenneth Turner Midsummer Night

You might have seen on my Instagram that way back in February I was sent this beautiful candle from the wonderful people from Kenneth Turner. I was stunned when I opened the packaging. First of all even the box the candle comes in is totally luxury and you instantly know that this is a candle that a lot of time, effort and love has gone in to. The candle itself to so simple, yet absolutely stunning. The vase that the candle comes in is beautiful, and I love that it makes me candle really stand out and it's definitely a centre piece.

I received my candle in the scent Midsummer Night which is described as "a heady fusion of honeysuckle, jasmine and tuberose with notes of moss and oak." I can imagine that a candle that's described as having undertones of moss and oak isn't everybody's cup of tea, however the floral notes of this candle really do hit you but not in an overpowering way and you can really tell that the scent of Midsummer Night was "inspired by the scent of cascading flowers created for a magical evening in an English country garden" (kennethturner.com).

As well as having a beautiful vase and packaging, every candle also comes with "a decorative leaf charm around the base" which I find is such a simple touch, yet adds so much. I think I'll be adding this to my keys once I've fully burnt my candle. The candle claims to burn for "up to 50 hours" (kennethturner.com), I'm never good at keeping track of how long candles actually burn for but 50 hours is a pretty great claim for a candle. I personally love buying candles that I know I'll be able to reuse once I've completely burnt down my candle, and Kenneth Turner even tell you how to clean out the vase and give you ideas of how to reuse them.

The scent of this candle is something else. As soon as I first opened this package from Kenneth Turner I could smell the scent so clearly and I hadn't even opened the candle box. When burning this candle the scent really does fill a room, but it isn't overpowering. You can definitely smell it, but it's a smell you want to be in. It's not a heavy scent, it isn't a sickly sweet scent, it's just a gorgeous scent that you definitely want to fill a room with.

Will I continue to burn my Kenneth Turner candle? Definitely. I've got a lot of candle to burn and I'm in love with the scent. I'm a candle lover, and I have a stupid amount of candles sitting waiting to be burnt, but at the moment this is the candle I'm reach for a lot to burn.
Would I repurchase a Kenneth Turner candle? The Kenneth Turner candles are definitely a candle you buy yourself as a treat, or really treat someone to as a gift. They aren't the cheapest candles in the world, and at first the price tag actually made me scared to burn this candle. However everything about this candle is worth the price tag!
Would I recommend Kenneth Turner candles? I really would. The scent I have is beautiful and every single part of the candle is definitely worth the price tag. Kenneth Turner also have an incredible range of items as well as candles and so many items and scents have been added to my wishlist!
Overall score out of 5? At the minute it's a 4. The only reason this candle isn't a 5 is because I haven't been burning it long enough to know how cleanly the candle burns or if the candle leaves loads of overly at the sides. However, I will keep you updated on this!

Have you tried anything from Kenneth Turner? Do you think you'd try anything from Kenneth Turner? Let me know!

Life | Spring Has Sprung Tag

So we're officially in Spring.. Although if the weather is anything to go by, it really does depend what day you look out of your window. For me Spring screams everything you look forward to; the weather is getting warmer, pastel colours are basically everywhere and you can now start planning to do things outside with everyone. I haven't done a tag post in a while either, so I thought it would also be a fun way for you to get to know a little more about me around this time of year!

1. Favourite spring nail polish?
I have a few nail varnishes that I love to pull out as soon as it becomes Spring and the sun seems to come out. As you can see they're all pretty much pastel colours, or just brighter colours in general compared to what I'm wearing in the colder and winter months.

2. What is your must-have lip colour this spring?

My lip colours don't really change much throughout the year. My go to shades are very neutral anyway and I usually go for my lips but better shades. I'm super excited to be able to wear my Juicy Shaker throughout the days during Spring and Summer, but other than that I usually reach for the shades you can see above.

3. Show us your favourite spring dress!

I have two go to dresses when it comes to Spring. Ryan actually picked out the dress with the lace top and floral skirt for me about 3 years ago now but it's definitely my go to Spring dress. Another go to Spring dress for me is my trusty denim dress with a lace overlay, again I think it's the lace, but maybe the collar too. I love lace for Spring.

4. What's your favourite flower?

This is a difficult one for me. I love roses, lilies, snowdrops and violets and actually have them all tattooed on me. For this time of year I'd have to go for snowdrops because that really does symbolise Spring starting!

5. Favourite spring scarf/accessory?

I seem to wear scarves all year round, and I do have scarves that I'm more likely to reach for this time of year instead of winter. However for some strange reason I'm more likely to reach for rings in the Spring and Summer. Especially midi rings with different metals and designs.

6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)

I'm so behind, I actually have no idea what the trends are this year. However I'm so excited for the Juicy Shakers, if the weather was better I'd be wearing mine every single day right now.

7. Favourite spring candle?

This question makes me happy that I'm clearly not the only person who burns my candles based on the season. I'm really looking forward to burning my Bubblegum and Very Cherry Jelly Belly candles!

8. Favourite body spray/perfume for spring?

I have so many to pick from this time of year, as you can see above. I love my Body Shop body sprays, they seriously last all day long without needing a top up. I'm especially looking forward to wearing my Japanese Cherry Blossom body mist this year. I'm also really enjoying my So...? perfume lately, and I have a review coming up on that next week!

9. What is spring like where you live?

I live in the UK so it's incredibly hit and miss. By hit and miss I mean we seem to have one day of sunshine and then around a week of really dull, wet weather. Sometimes it's just dull, and then we have around five minutes of sunshine.. Although as I'm writing this it's raining incredibly hard.

10. What's your favourite thing about spring?

Apart from the fact that so many people are willing to make plans to do different things, usually that involve going outside or going places. It's probably that on my lazier days when I'm only wearing minimal makeup, people tell me I look so fresh and pretty.. It's great!

11. Are you a spring cleaner?

Occasionally, I tend to get my cleaning done just before Spring arrives so then I'm feeling a little bit more ready. I definitely change my bedsheets as soon as Spring arrives, so then my entire bed is fresh!

12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?

Our next family holiday is booked for July so I'm looking forward to that. Unfortunately me and Ryan don't have a holiday booked just yet because of what is going on with me at the minute, but I'm sure we'll have many little weekend adventures which I'll tell you all about!

Friday First | Lancôme Juicy Shaker

Okay so if you haven't heard about the new Juicy Shakers from Lancôme, then seriously where have you been? I can't remember when exactly I heard about these or the concept, but as soon as I heard about them then I knew I would be desperate to get my hands on one!

Honestly, I'm not sure how I got my hands on this. I'd seen a few bloggers posting pictures of their incredible parcels from Lancôme containing their Juicy Shakers that I could never in my wildest dreams think that I'd be coming home to one myself!

I received the shade 381 Mangoes Wild, and it is the prettiest coral pink, orange shade with the most incredible scent. I assume the scent is a mango scent, however it's a scent that I'm so familiar with but I just can't put my finger on. The other thing I love about the Juicy Shakers are that there are 13 shades to collect and each shade has it's own scent. That fact alone is genuinely enough to make me want to collect each shade for myself.

So the Juicy Shakers are actually a "bi phased formula." As you can see above the colour actually separates from the oil, so the whole product being shaped as a cocktail shaker isn't just a gimmick because you really do need to shake this well to get everything mixed together! Juicy Shakers contain the three essential oils "sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil" meaning your lips are also perfectly nourished and that "the formula is non sticky and non-drying". You might have also noticed that the applicator is quite a cute little triangle shape, this "shape hugs the lips contours so you cannot go wrong" and also "absorbs just the right dose of pigment" (lancome.co.uk).

So is it as good as it sounds? Well I'm definitely in love with it so far. The applicator really does pick up the perfect amount of product that leaves you with a sheer finish with just the right amount of colour on your lips. You also don't feel like you're wasting any product or worrying about using too much. The best thing is that you can easily build up the coverage but your lips don't feel weighed down or heavy. I'm absolutely in love with the scent of Mangoes Wild is absolutely stunning and it makes me want to wear this all day long. It gives such a natural look, but it also gives a finishing touch to any kind of makeup. Honestly, I can't wait to be wearing this every day this Spring and Summer!

With it being an oil and having more of a gloss like finish, the staying power for me is a little mixed. If I'm not doing anything it looks great, but at the minute when I'm eating and drinking I'd feel like I'd want to apply it straight after.. Maybe I can find a way to make it last longer, but this isn't the biggest problem in the world and one I can definitely live with! But.. I can't lie, I'm definitely in love with this product because the shaking aspect is super cute and also so much fun! I also really like the fact it isn't just a gimmick and I know I'm shaking it so all the goodness mixes in with all the colour!

Will I continue to use the Lancôme Juicy Shaker? I will. I'm looking forward to wearing this most in the Spring and Summer where it's going to give my makeup a finished look. I just know the colour is going to look great this summer, but it's also going to do my lips a world of good!
Would I repurchase the Lancôme Juicy Shaker? I'm not entirely sure. It's retailing for £18 which I think it a ridiculous price and one that I'm not sure if I could justify on one product. However let's see how much I fall in love with the Juicy Shaker over the coming Spring and Summer months and see if I change my mind on this.
Would I recommend the Lancôme Juicy Shaker? I would. I love the idea that you're mixing essential oils with lip colour meaning that you're doing your lips some good while being able to wear a colour. I usually have to chose between a lip balm or my lip colour and my lips can feel a little worse for wear. But with the Juicy Shaker this isn't something you have to worry about. You also don't have to worry about using too much and wasting product and it's easy enough to apply while on the go!
Overall score out of 5? A 3. I really want this to be a 4, and it is so close to being a 4 believe me. I love the colour, scent, idea, literally everything about the Juicy Shaker.. Apart from the price. I think the price is a little steep and it might become a product that will be a 'treat' product for a lot of people. But if the price isn't something that you worry about and it doesn't put you off then seriously, give this a go.

Have you tried the Lancôme Juicy Shaker? What do you think about the Juicy Shaker idea? Do you think the Juicy Shaker is something that you'll try? Let me know!
