Beauty | April Favourites

I feel like I finally have enough products that aren't my normal everyday products to do a favourites post! This blog post is going up a week early to make room for a new blog post next Sunday, so enjoy!

Makeup
Let's just jump straight in, throughout April I seem to have finally found liquid foundation that suits my skin and matches me perfectly, not just one but two! I feel super late to the party with Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation but I'm also really enjoying L'Oreal Paris' Infallible Matte Foundation. I know a lot of people are very split on this foundation, but for the days that I need a little extra coverage it's absolutely great, I could do a whole post on that foundation alone!

Also thrown in to my favourites is my trusty Seventeen Smoulder Gel Eyeliner, this is the gel eyeliner I always reach for and April is the month where I reached for a winged look on a daily basis once again!

Lip Care
I grabbed the Malibu SPF 30 Watermelon Lip Care when I was going on holiday as I needed something to protect my lips, but I absolutely love this lip balm! My lips feel protected and smoother without feeling coated, and oh the scent. The scent isn't overpowering, but it's subtle enough to just be there.

Nails
You'll have seen this nail varnish on my Instagram, but I picked up the Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine by Rita Ora in Bestival Blue at the start of April and as soon as I saw it I knew it was a colour I'd be wearing so much throughout the warmer months. I'm currently wearing it on my toes and it's such a stunning colour!

0Skin Care
A trusty favourite of mine which you've seen me talk about before, my Soap & Glory Righteous Butter! I've been trying out a few other products lately but I always go back to my Righteous Butter, I've fallen back in love with this lately and my legs feel perfectly prepped for Spring!

Fragrance
Again another product you've seen me talk about before, my Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Room & Body Spray, but also my Avon Little Black Dress perfume. I didn't reach for my either of these fragrances for a while, but while on holiday at the beginning of the month I was reaching for my Little Black Dress perfume a lot and wondered why I ever stopped wearing it most days!

Other
I read The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion whilst on holiday and instantly fell in love, I read it while lying by the pool and finished it on the way home, a book I would highly recommend if you haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'm currently reading The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion and so far I'm loving it just as much!

So those are my favourites from April, what are yours? Let me know below!

Friday First | Soap & Glory Heel Genius

I feel like my Friday Firsts are always about Soap and Glory, and I've really tried to avoid reviewing one for a while. However, as the weather is getting warmer and the sandals are coming out, it's time to get my feet up to scratch and I thought it would be a perfect time to try 'Heel Genius'..

I was lucky enough to be gifted this by a neighbour who knew I enjoyed Soap and Glory products and if you're reading this Sam, thank you!

The first thing I noticed with Heel Genius is that the scent is very different to any Soap and Glory product I've ever tried, it doesn't have the typical 'pink' scent and instead the product contains macadamia oil, menthol, bilberry, orange and lemon, but for me the menthol really does come through making it seem like typical foot product, but that is my personal opinion.

You're meant to apply this product before you go to bed, putting on cotton socks while you sleep to let it sink in, I've been doing this but I've also been applying a thin layer after I get out of the shower while my skin is still damp.

I haven't seen miraculous results, however I've only been using this product for a week but my feet do feel softer and smoother, so we'll see how my feet feel when using this for a lot longer.

Will I continue to use Soap and Glory Heel Genius? I'll finish up this bottle of Heel Genius, my feet do feel softer and it does feel like a little pamper session every night.
Would I repurchase Soap and Glory Heel Genius? I don't think I will, but I've never been a person who is huge on foot products. Although if I do change my mind the £5.50 price tag is quite fair.
Would I recommend Soap and Glory Heel Genius? I think I would, if you don't want to pay for pedicures this is a simple product you can use yourself at home!
Overall score out of 5? I'll give this product a 3, I'm not a person who is a great lover of foot products but my feel do feel smoother and softer.

Have you ever tried Heel Genius? Are you more likely to try this product now that the weather is getting better? Would you recommend any products for pampering your feet? Let me know below!

Friday First | Forever Living Aloe Vera

This weeks Friday First is all about Forever Living Aloe Vera products, again another product I never thought I'd be reviewing. Well, I won't be reviewing them as it's my mum who swears by Aloe Vera for many different uses and uses these products, so I'll be writing this blog post from her point of view!

As she bought these products from a representative I won't be able to leave any links to the products, but I hope this post will give you a little more insight into the power of Aloe Vera!

A very quick note, I have no proof that any of these products work for everyone or will have the same effects as my Mum and Dad. This is just their own views!

Forever Aloe Lips With Jojoba
Starting with a lip balm that is a combination of Aloe, Jojoba and beeswax that is designed to soothe, smooth and moisturise chapped and dry lips. My mum is a person who has used lip balms in the past but has never found one that works well.

"There is no greasy feeling with this lip balms and you're lips don't feel like they have a coating on. The lip balm has an initial smell but when you're wearing it you can't smell it, there is also no aftertaste that you can get with some lip balms. My lips feel a lot more moisturised and it does soothe my lips when they're a little sore."

Will you continue to use Forever Aloe Lips? "I will continue to use the lip balm, I can definitely see the benefits that it claims to achieve."
Would you repurchase the Forever Aloe Lips? "I would repurchase it, I managed to pick it up for a great price that didn't break the bank and it works great."
Would you recommend the Forever Aloe Lips? "As someone who has tried so many different lip balms I would highly recommend this lip balm to others who have not had success with other lip balms."
Overall score out of 5? "I'd give this a 5. I've tried many lip balms in the past and none have worked, but this is great!"

Aloe Heat Lotion
A heat lotion designed to soothe and relax by massaging into the skin. My mum is always using Deep Heat for one reason or another so I wasn't surprised to see that this was a product that she picked up to try.

"Initially there is a similar smell to Deep Heat and it has the warming factor like Deep Heat, but the smell doesn't linger and the heat factor disappears sooner than Deep Heat but it still soothes my aches, and the effects seem to last a lot longer. The lotion sinks easy in to the skin and it doesn't need working into the skin. It doesn't feel greasy on the skin and a little goes a very long way."

Will you continue to use Aloe Heat Lotion? "Yes I will. Although it is more expensive than Deep Heat I don't have to use a lot of lotion, so in the long run it will last me a lot longer."
Would you repurchase the Aloe Heat Lotion? "I would, I feel that the product is going to last me a long time so I'll definitely get my moneys worth from it."
Would you recommend the Aloe Heat Lotion? "I would recommend. The effects of this lotion last all day and the smell doesn't linger all day."
Overall score out of 5? "I'd give it a 5. I don't go around smelling of Deep Heat all day and I can feel the effects of this lotion lasting all day."

Aloe Vera Gelly
A "non-irritating" gelly that claims to moisturise, soothe and condition the skin. My mum bought this to use on her own skin, but also bought it for my Dad to use on his scalp with Psoriasis.

"I'm using this gelly in place of a daily moisturiser once a day all over my face, however I've never really used a daily moisturiser properly. I am seeing the effects of using this gelly on my skin. It's a very soothing gelly and it has a nice cooling sensation which is nice on the skin. Your Dad has been using this on his scalp and that's looking better."

Will you continue to use Aloe Vera Gelly? "I will continue to use it, although I'll probably use it more to soothe sore skin instead of for the moisturising factor."
Would you repurchase the Aloe Vera Gelly? "I would. I'm seeing benefits for my own skin, but I'd be more likely to repurchase it for your Dad and his scalp."
Would you recommend the Aloe Vera Gelly? "I'd definitely recommend it as a soothing agent for things like sore skin and sunburn."
Overall score out of 5? "I'd give it a 4. It is a great soothing products, but I find that other products are better for moisturising, like the Propolis Creme."

Aloe Propolis Creme
A creme that claims to "nourish the skin" as well as helping to "maintain a beautiful skin tone and texture." Again my Mum bought this creme to use on her own skin, for also for my Dad to use on his own skin where he has dry patches.

"I use this product on my face once a day and your Dad uses it on his face when he goes to bed. It's a very thick creme, but it doesn't need working into the skin and a little goes a very long way. It doesn't feel greasy on the skin and the creme has a natural smell but it doesn't linger. I'm seeing the benefits of this creme my skin is feel softer and the dry skin on your Dad's face is looking a lot better, also his stubble feels softer!"

Will you continue to use Aloe Propolis Creme? "I will, I'm using it daily as a moisturiser and my skin is feeling better."
Would you repurchase the Aloe Propolis Creme? "I would buy it again, I'm loving the moisturising factor."
Would you recommend the Aloe Propolis Creme? "I would recommend it, again I'm definitely seeing the benefits."
Overall score out of 5? "I'd give it a 5. It works well on dry skin and works well for skin that just needs a little extra moisture."

Aloe Hand & Face Soap
A hand and face soap that claims to clean without drying as well as leaving skin feeling "pampered and silky smooth". My mum has used face washes in the past and has struggled to find one that doesn't leave her skin feeling dry, stripped and tight.

"It's a thick face wash, but again a little goes a long way. After using this wash my face feels clean, soft and moisturised, there's not the normal tight feeling I get after other face washes. There's a very gently fragrance which isn't overpowering and you can't smell it when using it on your face."

Will you continue to use Aloe Hand & Face Soap? "I will, however it is expensive compared to other hand and face washes that you can buy so it will probably be used sparingly."
Would you repurchase the Aloe Hand & Face Soap? "I would repurchase it. The price tag isn't the cheapest, however it feels like a product that will last a long time as not much is needed."
Would you recommend the Aloe Hand & Face Soap? "I'd recommend it to people who have sensitive skin, or for those who have struggled to find a face wash that works well in the past."
Overall score out of 5? "4, but that is just because of the price tag. I love the product otherwise."

Have you ever tried any Aloe Vera products? Would you recommend using Aloe Vera? Is it something you'd consider trying? Let me know below!

Holiday Diaries | Limassol Edition

It feels like I was only writing my blog post about going to Alcudia yesterday and now almost a year later I'm writing about our recent trip to Limassol, Cyprus.

Again I didn't take many pictures, I'm not sure if this is because we didn't do many 'photo worthy' things as a lot of the time we were just walking around exploring, or because as usual I never think to take my camera out.. Nevermind!
One activity that we did that I definitely wasn't able to get any pictures of was when we went off roading in a little buggy, so here's a bonus picture of us in our attractive jumpsuits (and me looking especially like a convict..)

So a bit of a photo heavy post, but I think that photos do a much better job of showing how someone spent their holiday instead of them just writing pages and pages about it!

We're already suffering from holiday blues and I'm sure it won't be long before we're organising our next holiday, we're already talking about where we both want to visit next!

Life | Dear April

Dear April,

So I'm writing to you late and I'm writing you a really short letter, sorry!

I should have been writing to you on the first, but instead I was on a plane travelling to Limassol for a week
, which was a great week and it was just perfect to be away and relax just before the stretch of uni really begins.

You're the month where everything becomes real April, I have two weeks left of uni before I'm out on my management placement, which I was lucky enough to get my first choice in so I'm hoping that I will really enjoy it and learn a lot from it. You're probably going to be filled with uni work April, I have one assignment due in and I'll be working on my final assignment too, oh as well as my portfolio!

You treat Ryan to his birthday, which means that I get to treat him to some goodies! Although I don't get to see him until a week after his birthday, but I suppose this is what growing up is really about. It does give me an opportunity to catch up with a really old friend who I hardly get to see anymore though, and I cannot wait for this.

I think you're going to be my quietest month yet April, I actually don't have a lot planned for you I really do want to just take you one day at a time and just enjoy the beginnings of Spring! Lets see what you have in store for me April.
