Beauty | Prairie Charms

I am absolutely delighted to be working with Prairie Charms for this blog post after they approached me asking me if I was interested in their blogger collaboration which aids the 'Make A Wish Foundation'. The way Prairie Charms aid the 'Make A Wish Foundation' is by donating 25% of every order to them, which is a huge amount of each order for a very worthy cause! I was more than happy to get on board with this team and let me tell you each and every step has been an absolute dream and I can't wait to work with them again in the future.

So now onto what I received! The packing was beautiful, I wish I'd taken a picture of the outside packaging as it was a great purple bag, but I was too excited to just get inside. Each piece was carefully packaged with the pink paper and sequins and glitter galore (which I have saved)! I personally picked out two pieces, the Elinor Pink Rose Bobby Pins and the Laura Knot Hair Ties, which were replaced by the Caitlyn Knot Hair Ties, and received two free gifts, the Inez Pink Glitter Bow and the two block colour hair ties from the Laura pack.

Elinor Pink Rose Bobby Pins
The moment I saw these on the site I knew that they were a piece that I wanted and believe me when I say that they are going to be the perfect hair piece of Spring and Summer! I'm impressed with these grips, the roses feel very secure so I'm not worried that they're going to suddenly fall off and the roses themselves feel good quality, the grips aren't too long so they're easier to use within a hair style and as you can see although you can see the grips they closely match my hair colour so this doesn't worry me.

Caitlyn Knot Hair Ties
I have been wanting some knotted style hair bands for ages as they claim to not leave the dreaded kink in your hair when it's been up. I originally picked out the Laura Knot Hair Ties, however, the floral band wasn't available so I swapped them to the Caitlyn Ties instead, but the colour block ties from the Laura set were sent as a free gift.

I always have a bobble on my wrist as I never know when I'm going to need to throw my hair up so I can guarantee that these will replace the little black band as they look a bit more fun too! They felt comfortable in my hair, there was no snagging or pulling and they felt very secure. My only complaint, if you can call it a complaint, is that once they've been in my hair they do stretch out a little, however, I did expect this so I can't complain too much.

Inez Pink Glitter Bow
This was the other free gift I received and believe me when I tell you that I fell in love with this the moment I opened the box. It's going to be a hair piece that is really going to add an extra something to any hairstyle and I can't wait to wear in on many occasions! The bow feels secure to the clip, the material feels good quality and the glitter doesn't fall out everywhere.

When trying it out and just playing around with my hair I used the bow in the back of my hair to just pull some hair back and give the impression of a half up, half down style and I also used it to hold back the side of my hair. I'd also use this if I was styling my hair in an up do somehow, which if I ever do will definitely end up on my Instagram!

I have absolutely loved working with this company from the moment they contacted me and I cannot wait to work with them again in the future. Definitely, give Prairie Charms a look, they have so many more amazing pieces, all fantastic quality, that are all reasonably priced and how could you say no to a company donating 25% of each order to 'Make A Wish'? If you do pick up anything from them let me know as I'd love to see what you pick out!

Have you ever ordered from Prairie Charms? Have you seen anything that you'd love to buy? What did you think of the pieces that I picked out? Let me know below!

P.S. Don't forget there are no blog posts next week as I'm away on holiday so don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter to find out what I'm up to and make sure you know when blog posts are resuming!

Friday First | Leo Bancroft Sensationally Secure Pro Hair Grips

This weeks Friday First I'm talking about grips, and I can honestly say that this is something that I never thought I'd be reviewing.

At Christmas time when I saw my cousin and his wife, me and his wife somehow got onto the topic of hair grips, she then told me about the Leo Bancroft Sensationally Secure Pro Hair Grips that she uses and how she'd never use anything else. I never got around to picking any up for myself, but being the wonderfully kind person she is she picked me some up and sent me some in the post!

So this post is a little bit of a cheat as I've been using these for a few weeks, but I can argue that that means I can give a truly honest review.

I was initially a little bit sceptical of these grips and wasn't sure how grips could be so wonderful that they'd hold my hair so much in place that I'd be willing to pay £3 for a pack of hair grips. I have used this hair grips to hold my fringe back when it's up in the day, when I'm exercising and when it's up when I'm in bed.

I can confidently say that these hair grips are incredible and seriously hold my hair in place without feeling uncomfortable. They don't snag at my hair and I forget they're in my hair. They have a matte finish and the only way I can describe the feel is like a very worn down sandpaper, which sounds awful but it means that they hold really well and they do not move at all throughout the day..

The only thing I cannot use these grips for is when I french plait my fringe because they're just a little too long and they stick out too much at the top and they look a bit strange.

Will I continue to use the Leo Bancroft Sensationally Secure Pro Hair Grips? I will continue to use these hair grips, and I'm excited to see how long they last me as I'm only using two at a time and I make sure I know exactly where they are so I don't lose them.
Would I repurchase the Leo Bancroft Sensationally Secure Pro Hair Grips? I think I would, the £3 price tag isn't my favourite but I'm hoping this pack last me, but I would pick them up again.
Would I recommend the Leo Bancroft Sensationally Secure Pro Hair Grips? Absolutely! Everybody needs to try these hair grips at least once, they are a game changer believe me.
Overall score out of 5? I'll give this product a 4, I can't use them to hold my fringe when I've french plaited it but that is the only downside to these grips. Is it possible to be in love with hair grips?

Have you ever tried these hair grips? Would you try these hair grips? Do you use anything similar to these? Let me know below!

Beauty | Empties

I finally have enough products to justify an empties post! These are another kind of post that I absolutely love because you get a better idea about a product and you can see if people will repurchase them, or if they just weren't worth the hype.

Avon Senses Relfection & Mystique
Like an idiot I forgot to include my empty Mystique bottle in the above picture. I love Avon Shower Gels and the scents they come in they're such luxury scents. They feel my skin feeling silky smooth and soft after I've used them and they're what I always use on a daily basis. I'll definitely be repurchasing these, we always have bottles of these in the bathroom ready to use.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Like every other beauty blogger and every other girl in the country I jumped straight onto this product and I absolutely love it. I've already reviewed this product and you can read that here, and I've already repurchased my next bottle!

Beauticology Sweet Gingerbread Body Wash
This is another product that I've already reviewed, you can find that here. I won't be repurchasing this product, I think I love my Avon shower gels too much!

Nivea Pearl and Beauty Deodorant
I know that not everyone includes deodorants in their empties, but I will because I have my favourites and ones that I feel work, Nivea Pearl and Beauty being one. It keeps me feeling fresh all day and I feel protected, also it smells nice!

Soft & Gentle Jasmine & Coco Milk
Soft & Gentle are another deodorant favourite. Again it keeps me feeling fresh and protected all day and this scent has to be my second favourite Soft & Gentle scent.

Goldwell Dualsenses Rich Repaird 6 Effects Serum
This seriously is my holy grail product and the one thing that I will always swear by when it comes to my hair. When using this product my hair feels softer, it's a lot easier to manage and it just feels generally great! The only down side is that my mum has to get me this from work, but it's a product that I will always repurchase when I need a new one.

Avon Care 3-In-1 Cleansing Lotion
This is something that I now cannot imagine my skin routine without. I use this after I've washed my face to very quickly refresh my skin. It leaves my skin feeling smoother and looking that little bit brighter somehow. I cannot find this online, so I feel that Avon have done their usual and discontinued a product that I love, sob!

Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash
Again another product that I cannot imagine my skin routine without. I use this every morning to wash my face and remove all the dirt from the previous day and night before. Since using this my skin has looked a lot better and it's something I always repurchase.

Primark Cotton Pads
I use these twice a day to remove my makeup and freshen up my skin, they're just a staple that a girl cannot live without. For £1 they always land in my basket when I'm in Primark.

Chocomania Body Butter
Again, another product that I have already reviewed on this blog. Part of me is sad I've finally finished this, but part of me isn't. I had ups and downs with this product definitely! Unfortunately, I won't be repurchasing.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter
It's no secret how much I love this product, you can read my original review here. I'm sad that I've finished this tub because I've vowed that I won't touch my new tub until I'm on holiday. This is going to be one of those products that I continue to repurchase for life I feel.

Let me know what products you've finished and if you'd repurchase them or not!

Friday First | Shimmer Dust Gift Box

Today I'm talking about the No 7 Shimmer Dust Gift Box which I received for Christmas. I've been thinking about how to review these items for a while and then I decided to review the box all in one go! I love these little gift boxes from No 7 because for me they're a great and easy way to try products that I wouldn't normally get a chance to try.

No 7 Lash Impact Mascara in Black
A mascara that claims to 'add intense volume for dramatic lashes.. great volume in 1 coat, and an amplified false lash effect in 2 coats without clumping'. I wasn't disappointed with this mascara, I saw an immediate effect with just one coat and I do feel that with two coats I have got some great volume, I wouldn't go as far as false lash effect but I love my lashes, no clumps in sight either! Not sure if I'm a fan of the normal price tag of £13.50..

No 7 High Shine Lipgloss in Glaze
A lipgloss that 'is a collagen boosting moisturising gloss that glides on for voluptuous smoothing shine. With vitamins that protect and care for lips'. I'm not a person who wears lipgloss a lot, these days I usually throw on my lip balm and I'm out the door. I didn't really know what to expect from the colour of this, it looked very different on my hand to the tube. It didn't apply easily, it wasn't sticky but it didn't slide on, I had to keep picking up more product just to get this on my lips. For £9.50 I won't be purchasing this for myself, but I might pass this one onto my mum.

No 7 Youthful Eye Serum
So I can't fairly review this product as you're meant to see results in 4 weeks, maybe I'll come back to this one later. It's meant to work on wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness and although I'm not seeing any instant results my eye area does seem softer and smoother.. Although for £19.50 normally I'll be wanting miracles, I think I'll come back to this in a few weeks.

No 7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow
The shade I have is the bottom shade from the Cappuccino trio and claims to 'blend effortlessly and last for hours'. When I swatched it on my finger it looked a lot darker than I expected, but it blended lovely on my arm. It's not a colour I'd wear all over, but it's a shadow that I can make work in my crease to add some depth when I wear my winged liner. It did blend easily into my crease and it lasted nicely all day.

So here is my face with all the products! For my base I'm using L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte in Porcelaine, set with my Laura Paige powder in Transclucent and Seventeen Smoulder Gel Eyeliner to create my winged. As you can see the eyeshawdow is just adding that little bit more depth onto my eyes, and just look at the volume from that mascara. The lipgloss gave off a very natural colour, that I wasn't actually expecting, it's a nice colour.

Just for good measure here is proof that I cannot be serious when taking blog pictures, can anybody?

Do you use No 7 products? Do you have a favourite? Would you use any of these products? Let me know below!

Life | Treating My Mum

So of course today is Mother's Day so this post is going to be dedicated to what I treated my Mum to today.

My mum has had a busy week this week as not only is it Mother's Day today but it was her birthday on Wednesday, so I'm going to show you what I bought my Mum both for her birthday and for Mother's Day.

I picked up the cushion from Store 21, my Mum's been wanting some new cushions and I loved the message on this one, the beach hut sign I also picked up from Store 21 as my Mum loves beach huts and that is the theme of our bathroom.. I also again thought the sign was nice. Who doesn't love getting chocolate for their birthday? I know my Mum loves mint chocolates, especially these Thorntons ones so I picked these up for her!

For me Mother's Day is all about treating your Mum and wanting them to feel loved and pampered, so I picked her up this small Orchard & Bloom set in the scent Pink Lily & Jasmine. Again I treated her to some of her favourite chocolate, Maltesers.. She is definitely going to kill me. As well as what you can see here I'm also going to treat her to a day out for Sunday brunch once I'm back from my holiday.

So that is what I treated my Mum too, I'd love to see how you treated yours!

Friday First | Discovery Box 'Classics Collection'

I love the idea of subscription boxes, they are some of my favourite blog posts and YouTube videos to read and watch. I have been searching for the perfect subscription box and I've been struggling to find one, until I found the Discovery Club box from The Fragrance Shop.

Discovery Box is a subscription box where you are sent samples of both female and male samples for a really affordable price of £5 per box per quarter, you can find more information about the subscription box here.

I'm terrible with fragrances, I have the fragrances that I know I wear and although I have fragrances that I like the smell of, I've never had a chance to try them for myself so therefore I don't get to try anything new, Discovery Box for me is a great way for me to try new fragrances as well as smelling new fragrances that I'd buy for my boyfriend, brother, or Dad.

Discovery Box comes beautifully packaged and also comes with a small booklet which explains your collection box, providing information about the samples you have received and also includes vouchers for if you wanted to buy a bigger sized fragrance. Let's jump straight into the samples I received..

1. Givency, Very Irresistible 2. Thierry Mugler, Angel 3. Paco Rabanne, Lady Million Eau My Gold! 4. Nina Ricci, Nina 5. Jimmy Choo, Original 6. Lacoste, Touch Of Pink 7. Jean Paul Gaultier, Classique 8. Estee Lauder, Modern Muse 9. Hugo Boss, Boss Bottled 10. Paco Rabanne, Invictus 11. Issey Miyake, L'Eua d'Issey Pour Homme

Will I continue to use the 'Discovery Box'? I will, I love the idea of this subscription box. I think the sample sizes are great, enough to actually get enough use out of them to see if I would repurchase them and I love the idea that it gives me a chance to try fragrances that I've always wanted to try but never had the chance.
Would I repurchase 'At The Flicks'? I will be, I'll definitely be purchasing the next subscription box.
Would I recommend 'At The Flicks'? I would. I think it's a great way to have a chance to try a lot of different fragrances that I wouldn't get the chance to, and I think it would be a great idea for other people.
Overall score out of 5? I'd give this box a 4. I'm a person who knows what I like and I very rarely chance, and a box like this gives me a chance to try something new.. As well as the added bonus of vouchers if I decided to try something new!

Have you tried the Discover Box? Is it a subscription box you would consider trying? Have you tried any of the samples I received? Let me know below!

Friday First | Chapters Of My Life

When it comes to reading I'm a person who takes months to read a book or I can read it in a matter days. In the space of two weeks I've managed to get through books, so I though it would be fitting to make this week's Friday First all about what I've been reading lately.

JoJo Moyes - Me Before You
Let me start by saying that I loved this book. Initially I couldn't remember where I'd got the recommendation for this book from but reading on I remembered I was recommended this book because I absolutely loved The Fault In Our Stars.

For me the book started a little bit slow and it did take me a while to get into it, but once I did I was hooked and it didn't take me long to finish the book at all. When hooked I easily fell into the story line and became so invested in the characters and their story, so much so that when I finally finished this book on the train home I had to make sure that no one could see that I was crying.

This book made me fall in love and then completely ripped my heart out, but it was worth it.

Would I recommend Me Before You? I would, especially to people who I knew enjoyed The Fault In Our Stars and books along those lines. I fell in love with this book so much I just want everyone I know to read this book.
Would I re-read Christmas with Me Before You? I think I will, but it will take me a while to pick it up again, one because I have so many other books to read but two because I don't know how soon I can put myself through the heartache again.
Overall score out of 5? A high 4, very nearly a 5. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 is purely because it started a bit slow for me, but by the end I was completely in love.

E L James - Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy
I am very aware that some people are going to judge me relentlessly because of these books but let me start by highlighting the fact that the only reason I actually read these books was because I was hearing a lot about the 'abuse' within the story and I wanted to be able to judge what I was hearing about the books and the films fairly.

Now saying that, I really enjoyed these books. Not for the reasons you may think, yes the sex is there and you can't escape that fact but in the second and third books especially the story line develops and Christian is possibly one of the most interesting, and secretive characters.

To put it simply, I think the reason that I read these three books so quickly is purely because I so desperately wanted to work out why Christian is the way that he is.. Or as my mum put it, I was "analysing him".

Would I recommend the Fifty Shades Trilogy? I would, but I was also tell people to read the books with an open mind. The sex is there, and you can't get away from that but read the story line around that.
Would I re-read the Fifty Shades Trilogy? I'm not sure, they're not the first books I will run to when looking for a recognisable read.
Overall score out of 5? 3. I wouldn't say they were the best written books, I have read better and the sex is obviously a thing that at times meant I felt awkward and they weren't books I felt I was able to read when I was out and about. But like I said earlier, Christian Grey is one of the best characters I've read, I simply loved the secrecy that surrounded him.

Have you read any of these? What have you been reading lately? Let me know below.
