Holiday Diaries | The Travel Bucketlist

Going on holiday in April really gave me and Ryan the travelling bug and without fail, at least once a week one of us will mention booking another holiday and lately we've started looking at other holidays.

Looking at other holidays has made me realise just how many places I actually want to visit. Some will seem cliche, which is fine and probably slightly expected. I also know that I have missed so many out, some because I just can't think of them all, some I don't actually know I want to go there yet. So here is my bucket list of places.

Life | Oh What A Night

Going to see a broadway musical is pretty much on the top of my to-do list, however living where I do going to London to see a show is something that will require a lot of planning and some money, and one musical I have wanted to see for as long as I can remember is the 'Jersey Boys' tribute show.

That was until I got the chance to go and see a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute at an outdoor amphitheatre near to where I live. This band was The Ragdolls and they were absolutely fantastic. Vocals were spot on, the dancing was incredibly in sync and the suits were crisp and sharp. The boys personalities just shone through whilst they were on stage and they had such charisma with the crowd. I laughed, danced and sang my night away!

I would definitely recommend checking out this tribute band and if you have a chance to go and see them get some tickets, I promise you will not regret it.

You can find further information on their Facebook page (Theragdollsuk), their twitter (@theragdollsuk) or on their official website (jerseyboystribute.com).

Life | Dad's The Word.

So it's Father's Day, so I thought it would be fitting to dedicate a blog post to my Dad. Which, has made me realise that I didn't do this for Mother's day back in March, I know I was away that weekend so -10 points there, but that post will be going live next week.

Here's a quick introduction to my Dad:
  • He is one of the funniest people I know, honestly he can have the entire family in tears from laughing so much sometimes.
  • He is one of the most loving people I know, if you mean something to my Dad then he will go above and beyond to help you in any way possible.
  • He ferries me around a hell of a lot, which is partly my own fault because I still can't drive, but also my Dad just wants to know I'm safe whenever he can and if he can help add to that he will.
  • He is always there for me, I can go to him with everything and he'll listen and talk me through it.
  • Adding to the first point, we have so many inside jokes. One of my favourites being from one of the many university open days we went to together.
  • He will always look at me like I'm his little girl, which is one of the sweetest things ever.
  • He is fiercely protective of our family. I have never felt safer. He is the rock of our family.
  • I don't know if it's fair to say if I've been a Daddy's girl, I can talk to both my Mum and my Dad and I can laugh with both, but I think the last picture shows that I've always had a love Nike trainers, which is my Dad's fault.
  • He is the person I can fangirl over Game of Thrones with.
  • He is the person who got both my brother and me into Monty Python and gave us our brilliant sense of humour.
  • We are both insanely similar, which I'm pretty sure drives my mum crazy half the time.
  • There is so much more I could list but I think the main post is, he is my Dad and he is a fantastic one at that.
Long story short, he is my Dad and I will always love him.

Beauty | Spring Struggles

Despite it currently being June and almost summer in the UK, we're still having very mixed weather. Days where it's gloriously sunny and warm, and then days where it's still warm but there is a huge threat of rain. This is leading to a list of struggles I'm having this Spring.

What to wear
As I'm never quite sure what to wear as I never quite know what the weather is going to throw at me, I tend to just throw on a pair of skinny jeans, or my jeggings rolled to just above my ankle, with a comfortable top which is okay to wear alone or looks decent with my jacket thrown on top. Both the top and skinny jeans pictured are both from Primark.
As well as having to put together half decent outfits together for the day last weekend I also had to put together an outfit for a night out with my boyfriend and his work mates. I just threw on a dress which looks like a checkered shirt tucked into a leather skirt with my trusty black wedge heels. A dress which provides me with enough cover in case it was cold and wet, but looked nice enough on a sunny evening, luckily it was the latter and it was a lovely evening.

Shoes
Shoes are also another issue when the weather is like this. I tend to just live in my trusty Converse, which you can see in the outfit pictures above, but here are some other options that I may choose. Once again, all the shoes pictured I picked up at Primark. As much as I love throwing on a pair of dolly shoes before I run out of the door, they're not always practical especially if it rains on me! With the black pair and the lace pair at the bottom, I also need to ensure that my toes are always looking nice as you can see my pedicure through them!

Skin
With Spring comes trouble for my skin with the weather changing and being warm and muggy my skin does not cope well and tends to become really dry. On my face, I continue to use my trusty Garnier moisturiser which I will always stay loyal to but I need a deeper moisturiser for my skin. I sent off for some samples of the Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturizer and I've been trying it out this week since it arrived, it works by applying it to your skin after you've washed with your normal shower gel, I've pictured what I'm currently using. I'm very impressed by the Nivea moisturiser and I will definitely be purchasing, however, I can't say much for the scent, but that might be that my shower gel is a little overpowering.

Hair
As with my skin, my hair struggles massively in this weather and becomes quite frizzy, dry, and difficult to control. This product has been a lifesaver during this weather and really helps to control both the frizziness and the dryness in my hair. However, I feel this may be one of those products that you might only be able to buy from a hairdresser, thank you, mum!

Makeup
In February I started wearing a winged eyeliner look but I've not worn it for a while, however, I definitely think that this makeup look will be I turn to for Spring. Recycling a picture from February because everybody knows how a winged eyeliner looks.

Nails
For a girl who loves painting my nails, I struggle with colours in Spring. The majority of nail colours that I own are brightly coloured and more appropriate for Summer or slightly darker and more appropriate for Autumn and Winter, I don't actually own that many Spring colours. I'm starting to experiment more with pastel colours on my nails and force a little bit of sunshine and Spring into my outfits.

Life | You're The One That I Want Book Review

After falling in love with 'Billy and Me' last year I could not wait when Giovanna Fletcher announced that she would be writing and releasing a new book.

Once again, just as with 'Billy and Me', you are able to quickly connect and fall in love with the characters; Maddy, Rob and Ben did not disappoint me, you instantly connect with Maddy and I think this is simply because you are able to recognise parts of yourself within her or you know someone exactly like her. The book was an absolute dream to read, it took me a total of 6 hours, which itself is the sign of a perfectly good book. It was true and I was able to laugh with the good times and cry with the sad, along with feeling every feeling every character describes. Also, the little homage to 'Billy and Me' is the sweetest thing.

The beauty of Giovanna's writing is that she writes what everybody knows; you will find at least one situation you have been in with this book and recognise every single feeling that goes along with that situation.

I don't want to write too much about this book as I don't want to give anything away for people who haven't yet read it.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who read 'Billy and Me' or to anyone to just loves a good romance novel.

One last question for those who have read this; which team?
