Holiday Diaries | The First Edition

Can we call this the 'First Edition' of my holiday diaries when it's the first holiday I've been on without my parents? The fact that we're already thinking about our next holiday and different destinations justifies it in my mind that I can call this my 'First Edition'. Also, after a week in the sunshine, this horrible wet, cold and dark weather were not the weather that I was hoping to come to. But anyway, let's jump into the pictures so you can see what we got up to for a week!

Me and Ryan both took a 'legs or hot dogs' selfie firstly as a joke, but the more that I look at this picture the more it actually sums up what we spent a few days doing, just relaxing by the pool and enjoying the sunshine.

We travelled back on Easter Sunday so I didn't get my Easter Goodies until the Tuesday, I hope you all had a fantastic and fun filled Easter however you chose to spend it.

There are many other things that we did and got to see, however, I just didn't think to take my camera out and snap some pictures, I don't even know why! I bought a few goodies, however, I will be including those in a completely different post which is coming very soon, I do have a few other post ideas lined up too so we'll be back to normality soon.

For now, I'm off to still try and adjust to this cold and wet weather! xo

Holiday Diaries | BzzAgent | Holiday Preparation and Second Chances

I don't know if it's just me that goes through a weird cycle when I'm going on holiday. From the minute we booked this holiday I've had a countdown on my phone and I've been super excited, especially the past month or so, I've been looking into things to do while we're over in Alcudia, checking the weather weekly and what not but I just could not bring myself to pack; I've had all my clothes sorted for the past weeks, I've known exactly what I was taking and was basically ready to go but I could not bring myself to pack.
Of course, I didn't want to pack too early but I leave today to go to my boyfriends before we fly on Sunday morning, and here is the state that my bed was in yesterday morning.

I can safely say I have now packed everything I can pack so far, obviously, essentials will be left till the last minute, and I have my hand luggage sorted also, which is the brown bag on top of my suitcase.

Although I still don't feel like I'm in the holiday mood, I think this is because packing is such a stressful experience for me, I'm always stupidly conscious of the baggage allowance, and even though I know I am far from this I'm still worried that when I get to the airport I'll be over.

Preparing myself for the holiday also including giving my Nair Shower Power Cream a second chance.
So I didn't follow the instructions on this time and as I stated in my initial review I used this as a normal hair remover and waited outside of the shower until it was time to wash it off. I waited 10 minutes before I washed it off just to ensure it would get all the hair, I also didn't use the spatula to remove the cream as I found this quite painful last time I used this and found it scratched my legs, so I just washed off the cream using a shower scrub or "puff" as I call them.

So once again both my legs and underarms felt silky smooth after using this product, however, a lot more hair was removed. I do feel that waiting outside of the shower until it was time to wash off the product made this vital difference. There was some hair left in some places, such as at the bottom of my ankles which did mean that I had to go over these areas quickly with my razor but that's one of those areas which is understandable.

Overall Impressions So Far - So I haven't written off this product completely and I think I will be using it whilst I'm on holiday because I really do like how smooth it leaves my skin feeling after using it, however my razor has also been packed as a backup plan just for those little areas. I feel a little bit heartbroken writing this review, purely because Nair is a product that I have sworn by since I was 11 and it was the first product I used before I was allowed to properly shave my legs, so I think the fact that it doesn't work as well as I remember it working when I was 11 is disheartening, but then I also do try to keep reminding myself that I'm now 20 and I've been shaving my legs since I was 12, so, therefore, my hair and probably skin type has changed. Overall though I was more impressed by this use, however, I wouldn't be recommending this product as an in shower product and I would recommend that people use this as a normal hair removal cream and then just wash it off in the shower.

BzzAgent | John Frieda Frizz Ease Comparison

So throughout the John Frieda Frizz Ease campaign, I've had many days where I've used the different products either all together, separately or a few together. So I thought it would be a good idea to now compare them.

Frizz Ease Unwind Curls Calming Crème Alone - So when I'm at my boyfriend's I only travel with the calming crème purely because it slips into my bag easily, I don't really fancy travelling with the shampoo and conditioner and I don't trust the recovery crème to not spill all over my bag because there is no lid and I think to lock it I'd have to waste a lot of product.
Impressions - My hair feels awful when I only use the calming crème, I don't know why this is but I don't like it. As you can see in the picture my hair appear quite frizzy and it doesn't hold it's style for very long at all. Two hours after I'd taken this picture my hair was quite wavy and looked like I'd just taken it out of having it up in a ponytail all day, instead of straightening it.

Frizz Ease Unwind Curls Calming Crème and Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Crème Together - This day I didn't use the shampoo and conditioner because I'd chosen to use my blonde shampoo.
Impressions - My hair was soft and manageable this day and from the picture, it looks smooth, the only flyaway hair you can see is just the baby hair that I struggle to control anyway. Unfortunately, my hair didn't stay this nice because I then went out in a horrible rain storm.

Frizz Ease Dream Curls Shampoo and Conditioner, Frizz Ease Unwind Curls Calming Crème and Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Crème Together - It wouldn't be a comparison if I didn't then use all of the products together.
Impressions - My hair felt amazing the day this picture was taken, it was incredibly manageable and the shine my hair had was incredible. Once again, the only flyaway hairs that can be seen are the tiny baby hairs that I can't manage no matter what I do. My hair stayed like this all day until I then later curled it for a family meal.

Bonus picture of my hair curled after using all products - I don't curl my hair on a daily basis, which is why this is a huge bonus of a picture. I wear extensions when I curl my hair, purely to add a bit more volume into my hair so I don't feel that it made a different whilst I was curling my extensions. However, when I was curling my own hair around my face I do feel that my hair was a lot easier to curl and it held onto my curl all night long.

Overall Impressions - I think it's easy to see the difference compared to when I use all of the products compared to only one or two. My hair was a lot easier to manage and the shine added to my hair was great. On the rare occasion that I actually curled my hair I felt that my own hair was easier to curl.

BzzAgent | Nair Campaign

It's that time again, I'm involved in another BzzAgent campain! This time it's a Nair campaign.

I apologise for the awful appearance of the box, I think it's safe to say I was not impressed by the state it was delivered in.

The product that I have the pleasure of reviewing for this campaign is the Nair Shower Power Cream with argon oil, jojoba oil and cocoa butter, suitable for dry and sensitive skin. As with the John Frieda campaign, my Nair product is a full-size product to try and review.

This campaign could not have been better timed for me as I've been looking to get some hair removal cream for my holiday as currently I seem to be just slicing my legs up every time I touch a razor and I want nice smooth legs for my holiday, so of naturally when I was asked to join this campaign, I jumped at the chance!

Also, as with the John Frieda campaign, I will be using this product every time I feel I need to, until the end of the campaign or until I run out of product.

Nair, Argon Oil, Shower Power Cream - Claims to "work during showering for handy, quick & effective hair removal" and helps your skin to feel "softer and smoother" for up to 7 days.
First Impressions - I love using argon oil on my hair so I was quite excited to see that argon oil is the main selling point for this product. As soon as I got this product the first thing I did was smell it, at first the scent was pleasant and this continued whilst I was applying the product to my legs, however when this product had been on my legs for a few minutes that typical, almost chemical smell, which I often get from Nair products became noticeable, so I was a little disappointed with that.
I applied the product onto my legs and under arms before I jumped in the shower, waiting a few minutes before I got in as instructed. However, it also tells you to not stand directly under the water stream whilst in the shower, which I completely understand, however, I personally don't know what I'm meant to do in a shower that doesn't involve me standing directly under the water stream, but I waited out the time I was instructed too, I did splash my legs a few times and the product was washed away quite easily.
I prefer the little spatula that now comes with the product, compared to the old sponge they used to give you. However, the edge of the spatula is quite sharp and can be a little bit uncomfortable and can leave the skin looking a little bit red and scratched.
When I took the product off I had to go over my legs with my razor as quite a lot of patches on my legs had been missed which I was disappointed with. Also, the product came away in quite big lumps which did not break down easily with water which left my shower tray feeling slippy and the plug slightly blocked.

Overall Impressions So Far - After using it once I'm not impressed so far, although my legs and underarms do feel silky smooth and I didn't feel like I had to moisturise my legs after showering. I feel that using this product just made my shower time a lot longer due to the application, having to wait before getting in the shower and then having to wait around in the shower further as I can't do anything that will overly expose my legs to water and the product was easily washed off when I accidentally splashed my legs. As I had to go over my legs with my razor I am not expecting this product to give me up to 7 days of smoothness, however, I still cannot be sure if that means 7 days of smooth legs with no regrowth or 7 days of smooth feeling skin, only time will tell.

I haven't totally written this product off I am going to give it another chance, however, I feel that I'm going to use this product like you would the typical Nair, apply it, wait, wash it off, then carry on. For me, this will be easier and I'm not wasting time and water by standing in the shower doing nothing, and I'm pretty sure this is how I will use it whilst I'm on holiday, however, my razor will be coming with me as a backup. Watch this space for a second update to see if I manage to change my mind with this product.
